Following a lifetime listening and singing to jazz and swing music - and mentor, Steve Ostrow, the New York City nightclub owner who booked 1920s-30s stars Josephine Baker, Cab Calloway, and Margaret Whiting - Greg Poppleton sings like the singers people loved in the 1920s and 1930s

Based in Sydney, the Greg Poppleton band has performed live on ABC Sydney’s special 100th anniversary of radio broadcast, played twice at the Sydney Festival, and since 2012 have been the band by popular demand for the annual Art Deco Ball. We’ve entertained at more than 700 festivals, venues, and events

We have recorded nine albums of songs from the 1920s and 1930s

Our tenth album, Father Wanted Me to Learn a Trade, is 1920s - 1930s vocal style meets contemporary jazz. It’s a very personal album and will be released in late 2026

Film and TV actor as well as singer, Greg has acted with Nicole Kidman, John Goodman, and Adrien Brody
