"Even in the 21st Century, the music of the Roaring 20s still holds a fascination for many...Greg Poppleton keeps the 1920s flag flying with this enjoyable disc. Listening to the 1929 recording by the Mound City Blues Blowers of 'My Gal Sal' shows Poppleton has captured the basic sound. Grahame Conlon makes a mockery of those many banjo jokes with his rollicking solo on 'Road To Gundagai'. As for the leader, some may find his voice a little affected at times but he has captured the decade's vocal style to perfection especially on 'Falling In Love Again' sung in both English and German. As enjoyable as the band is to listen to, Greg Poppleton must be even better live."

"Aussie swing singer Greg Poppleton is lauded by critics for his “authentic” vocal stylings. But the radio DJ and actor—whose screen credits include Moulin Rouge and Chronicles of Narnia—isn’t putting on a voice or acting a part, when he steps out with his band."
